Why landscape your garden area?

If you have kids or look after grandkids then having a well-landscaped garden can feel like an extra playroom in your house ALL year round! Statistics suggest more outdoor time is linked with improved motor development and lower obesity rates and myopia (nearsightedness) risk. Safely getting some sun also helps us make vitamin D that our bodies need to stay healthy and strong. More engaged in learning. Playing outside promotes curiosity, creativity and critical thinking.

If you are a dog owner then we all know that dogs need outdoor time to maintain good health so a well-fenced outdoor space gives you peace of mind in-between their main walks of the day.

We follow a simple 7-step process to ensure your landscaped garden/outdoor space vision is achieved with excellent above trade standards.

  • Consultation & site visit

We meet to discuss your vision and ideas for your garden and we offer our expert advice and experience to help create your vision, ie material options and costs and timescale to suit both parties. We will then arrange a time to survey the land.

  • Survey of outdoor space to be landscaped

In order to create any plans for your new garden we will need to assess all existing dimensions, levels and service issues (drainage or electrical cables) sometimes for more complex landscapes third party advice may be needed to confirm exact land scope however any additional costs will be made clear at point of contract.

  • Concepts & ideas

We will commence with a design brief and we will proceed to ideas and concept plans. This is an initial draft for you to visualise your landscaped area on paper. This is a chance for us to discuss your ideas a bit more and go into depth about the finishing details, timescale. If you are happy with Candid Construction Scotland to be your landscaping contractor then at this stage of the process we hand over the contract and discuss candidly what this entails from both parties.

  • Final costs & contracts

We will formally contract between client and contractor the terms and conditions on which we can move forward with our working relationship. Contracts are drawn up, discussed, understood and signed for legally by customer and contractor.

  • Job organisation of materials & trades – time to get started!

A final meeting/discussion to ask any questions is had before commencement of works. At this stage you may wish to speak to your neighbours or let us to do the hassle sensitively for you if noise, traffic may be an issue. Then it is time for you to get on with your daily tasks with as little disruption as possible and us to get started manually on the landscaping.

  • Job implementation

Full consultation and communication daily, weekly and at every step of the way will be had throughout your project to ensure as little disruption as possible. Any obstacles will be absorbed and dealt with – we are problem solvers so sit back and try to enjoy the process as we commit to your vision with excellence.

  • Job completion & snagging

Once your job is near completion there will be a final snagging list for you to be had and once the snagging list is completed the landscaper will hand over a job completion certificate and that’s it you can enjoy your lovely landscaped area in peace once we have cleaned up and left site!
